Edit Project Settings

You may modify the governing settings for any REDCap project on this page. Some settings were created as defaults when the project was initially created, but others serve as extra settings used for customization and other functions. You may modify the values below and click the button at the bottom to commit these changes to the selected project.

Project's data table in the database: redcap_data4
Project's logging table in the database: redcap_log_event8
Want to move the project's data to another redcap_dataX table? If this project contains a lot of data and has pages that often appear to load slower than expected, consider visiting the Move Project Data page to move the project's data from redcap_data to another redcap_dataX table in the database. This *may* improve the performance of the project.
Online Status of Project
If 'offline', normal users will be denied access to project
Language for text displayed within project
If you wish to translate the English text in REDCap into a new language and create a new language file, you may go to the Language File Creator/Updater page and follow the instructions. To download any already translated language files in order to utilize them in REDCap, visit the REDCap Community Language Library.

Language files are located on the server at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\redcap\languages\
Character encoding for exported files
Used for PDFs and CSV export files in the project
If not explicity using a language listed in the drop-down above, then use the Default Encoding option.
Enable auto-calculations for calc fields?
If enabled (default), server-side auto-calculations will be performed for calc fields when data is imported (via Data Import Tool or API) or when saving a form/survey containing cross-form or cross-event calculations. If disabled, then calculations will only be done after being performed via JavaScript (client-side) on the data entry form or survey page on which they are located, and they will not be done on data imports.
Tip: This setting should *only* be disabled if the auto-calculations are causing excessive slowdown when saving data. If disabled, then some calculations might not get performed, and if so, must then be fixed with Data Quality rule H.
Enable/disable the Shared Library for this project?
Allows users to download forms from the REDCap Shared Library to import those forms into their project on the Online Designer page.
Enable/disable Twilio SMS and Voice Call services for this project?
If disabled, then the Twilio option will always remain disabled and hidden for all users in this project.

Settings relating to Data Privacy (e.g., GDPR)

The features in the section below can be utilized when dealing with data privacy, such as being in compliance with GDPR or similar regulations, that might require 'right to erasure' and/or the need to display a data privacy statement for participants to view.
Delete a record's logging activity when deleting the record?
If enabled, a user deleting a record in the project will be asked if they also want to delete all the data values and actions that have been logged on the Project Logging page for this record, in which the user will have to type 'DELETE' to confirm that they wish to do this. Users will have to choose whether they want to do this on a per-record basis when deleting the record. Note: For multi-arm longitudinal projects, this feature will delete the record's logging for the given record only in the current arm.
This feature can be used to aid in compliance with GDPR or similar regulations that require 'right to erasure'.
NOTE: This setting is only applicable for individual record deletion. Thus, it is not applied when using the 'Erase all data' feature or when deleting all records while moving the project to production, both of which will always delete all data-related logged events.
Auto-delete all Data Export Files in the File Repository that were created more than X days ago? (set value greater than '0' to enable)
NOTE: This will only delete files under the Data Export Files tab. No other types of files in the File Repository will be deleted.
Days
To keep disabled, leave value '0' or blank.
This feature can be used to aid in compliance with GDPR or similar regulations that require 'right to erasure'.
WARNING: Be careful enabling this because, once enabled, the cron job runs every 12 hours to delete these files. So if this feature is left on, it could begin deleting files within several hours or less.
Custom footer text for survey pages
If link text is provided, it will be displayed as a link at the bottom of all survey pages in the project, and when clicked, it will display the custom text (initally hidden) in a modal dialog. If the link text is not set (left blank), the custom text will instead be displayed inline at the bottom of all survey pages in the project.
Link text (optional):
Custom survey footer text:

HTML may be used in order to adjust the style of the text or to display links, images, etc.
Two-Factor Authentication Settings:
Exempt the project from 2-step login?
Can be used to disable 2-step login for projects in which the extra login step might make the project difficult to use or because it is not needed, for example.

If set to 'Yes', then users with access to at least one exempt project will not see the 2-step login page when they initially log in to REDCap, nor will they see it when they enter an exempt project, but they *will* see the 2-step login page if they attempt to enter a regular (non-exempt) project or navigate to their Profile page.
Always force 2-step login in this project for EVERY login session?
Can be used for projects containing very sensitive data (such as clinical data) in order to enhance the security of the project above the normal REDCap 2-step login security standards.

If set to 'Yes', then if a user has not had to perform the 2-step login during their current REDCap session (because they had logged in via 2-step login in a previous session), then it will force them to do the 2-step login before entering this project.
NOTE: This option is only useful if you have set the system's optional 2-step login Authentication Interval to a value other than '0'.
When e-signing, allow users to provide their 6-digit PIN only once per session.
This setting is to be used only by users who must use a 2FA PIN in lieu of a password for e-signing. If enabled, after users have already provided an e-signature, they will not be forced to enter their 6-digit PIN again during that same REDCap session.
Used specifically when performing an e-signature on data entry forms or when utilizing the 'File Upload' field enhancement feature when uploading a file on a data entry form (often used for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for FDA trials). NOTE: This feature cannot be used with the Duo Two-Factor option.

Miscellaneous project settings:

Names of Contact Persons (for reference)
This text is not displayed anywhere in the project, and is simply used for bookkeeping purposes for this project.
Double Data Entry module
Allows two project users to be set as Data Entry Person #1 and Data Entry Person #2 (using User Rights page), and allows them to create records with the same name and enter data for the same record without seeing one another's data. Only one person at a time can be set as person #1 or #2. All other users are considered Reviewers. Reviewers have the ability to merge a record created by person #1 and #2 after viewing differences and adjudicating those differences using the Data Comparison Tool, thus creating a third record in the set.
Date Shifting De-Identification Option: Date Shift Range Days
Specify the maximum number of days for the date shift range. (Range will vary from 0 to the entered value when dates are exported using date shifting on the Data Export Tool page.)
DTS (Data Transfer Services)
DTS cannot be enabled for any REDCap project until the global DTS setting has been enabled on the Modules Configuration page in the Control Center.
CDIS: Allow the patient's email address to be imported from the EHR?
(only applicable for the Clinical Data Mart and Clinical Data Pull services)

This setting is active only when the global 'Allow individual projects to decide' option is selected in the CDIS settings page. If 'Yes' or 'No' is chosen at the global level, this setting is overridden.
Please note that this option is currently managed at system level in the CDIS settings page
CDIS: Connected FHIR system
You can choose a specific FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) system for your project. This selection determines the source of the healthcare data your project will access and use. If 'Default' is selected, then the first FHIR system in the list will be used. You can create FHIR system configurations using the CDIS settings page. CDIS settings
Enable the e-Consent Framework feature 'Allow e-Consent responses to be edited by users?'
If enabled (default), users enabling e-Consent for a survey can choose whether or not users are allowed to modify survey responses that were completed using the e-Consent Framework. If disabled, no users will be able to modify survey responses that have been completed using the e-Consent Framework.
Store non-e-Consent governed PDF Snapshots on the External Storage server if the snapshot contains a completed e-Consent response.
NOTE: This setting will have no effect if the External Storage server ("The Vault") is not enabled for the e-Consent Framework on the Modules/Services Configuration page.
If enabled (default), any PDF Snapshot that is being saved to the File Repository will additionally be stored on the External Storage server if the snapshot contains at least one completed e-Consent response. If disabled, then only e-Consent governed PDF Snapshots will be stored on the External Storage server for this project.
