Why REDCap+ exists: REDCap+ helps ensure the long‑term sustainability of REDCap by supporting the development of new, innovative features while preserving free access to the REDCap Core platform for the entire global community. This model allows REDCap to cover the increasing operating costs — such as vetting new licensees from non-profit organizations around the world, maintaining the platform with security fixes and technical upgrades, supporting the External Module Repository, and providing global support via the REDCap Community site and weekly consortium calls — and grow responsibly without introducing a paywall or limiting any core functionality. The REDCap Core platform remains fully free and fully functional for all institutions, exactly as it has always been. Choosing not to subscribe to REDCap+ will never affect your ability to use REDCap.

How it works: REDCap+ is offered as a paid, annual subscription using a tiered pricing model based on the number of active users on a given production REDCap installation. Pricing is assessed separately for each unique production instance. This tiered structure ensures that REDCap remains globally accessible and sustainable in a fair and equitable way across institutions of all sizes and resource levels.
