REDCap+ is coming soon!

Initial list of REDCap+ features (2026):

  • Additional user accounts on the REDCap Community Portal (up to 12 per institution)
  • REDCap Rewards – this feature will integrate the Tango Gift Card API with REDCap+ and include many supporting materials for conversations with Finance, Treasury, and other institutional compliance groups
  • REDCap SHARE – this feature will support participant-driven sharing of their EHR data directly with researchers that have approval for this type of data ‘collection’. This feature is complementary to the Clinical Data Interoperability Services (CDIS) features that allow organizations to send data from their EHR to REDCap.
  • Project Migration Tool – this is a comprehensive tool to move a project(s), all settings, and all data from one server to another (note: only the Target server needs a REDCap+ license)

Tentative REDCap+ features to be added later (2026-2028):

  • Background Data Export – this will allow users to export large data sets from REDCap without having to sit on the page and wait for the export to finish in real time.
  • Instance Embedding – Embed the data from all instances of a repeating instrument into a table displayed on an instrument
  • New AI Features
    • Trainable Chatbot to be used in a project on surveys or any project page
    • Trigger-based call to AI based on data entry or file upload, etc. (Derivative Field concept)
  • New CDIS category/project type based on REDCap Share (hybrid CDP/CDM project structure) - may include logic-based mapping/filters
  • Archive a completed project as a big zip file (project xml, csv data, csv logging, files, etc.)
  • Enable REDCap authentication on survey pages (with optional pre-fill of user attributes into fields)
  • REDCap ID – a feature to support identity verification of participants.
  • User-defined smart variables
  • V2 of Community Platform (fully integrated into REDCap) - standalone or paired with a REDCap project
  • System-level API methods using super tokens (e.g., get list of all users, get project list for a specific user, create new user accounts)
  • New versions of the Epic FHIR app for CDIS (new FHIR version/endpoints)
  • Part 11 ready checklist - notes if all features and configuration are set correctly to help ensure 21 CFR Part 11 compliance
  • Integration of the Cross-project Piping EM
